BS 6375-1:2004 Certification

April 2010

Balance UK can proudly announce the certification achievement of BS 6375-1:2004, for their vertical sliding hardware on a timber sash window. This project was in partnership with George Barnsdale & Sons Ltd with testing completed at ERA's test facility. We would like to thank all that assisted with this accomplishment and look forward to the further future projects ahead.

 

 

St Margaret’s Hospice Charity Donation

January 2010

Balance UK Ltd is proud to announce a £400.00 donation to the St Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset.

Each year Balance UK runs an appeal where the cost’s of a Christmas card that employee’s make to send to work colleagues is optionally donated to the fund. We feel this money could then be used for a better cause and hopefully brings a smile to someone else who maybe less fortunate.

Retirement for Jim Usher: Managing Director of Balance UK

November 2009

Jim Usher, Managing Director of Balance UK has decided to retire from the industry after over a 10 year service with sash balances and move to Turkey. Originally beginning his career from Garador, manufacturing the springs and then growing the business with an MBO in 2001 and establishing the Balance UK brand in Martock, Somerset. Jim has been a true asset to the company and we thank him for all his service and hard work provided and wish him the very best of luck in his new life with his family in Turkey.

As from the 16th November 2009 the management of Balance UK shall be taken over by Frank Nicholls. Frank has come from an aerospace, high precision plastics machining and development background and has become a quality skilled engineer. We welcome Frank to the business and industry and look forward to working alongside him with growth and future development of the organisation.

Balance UK is proud to announce the completion of achieving the accreditation ISO 9001:2008. The quality management system of Balance UK Ltd has been assessed, certified and registered by ACS Registrars Ltd in September 2009.

Timber Traditional Hardware Range

September 2009

As from September 2009 Balance UK Ltd can now supply a full range of brass hardware for timber sash windows, which includes fingerpulls, sash eyes, bow handles, lockable fitch catches and non-lockable. Various colour options are also available on certain products, such as brass, chrome, white and satin chrome.

Balance UK Launch Left Handed Camlock

January 2008

Currently as the only UK supplier of a left-handed camlock, Balance UK Ltd can now provide customers with the opportunity to fabricate windows that can be perfectly symmetrical.

The entire new hardware range has been fully salt spray tested achieving a Grade 4 result. Copies of the test results can be supplied by Balance UK, if requested.

Customers can create a perfectly symmetrical window in timber, UPVC or a sash bay, by logging on to their own account area and using their online calculation system.

Travel Restrictors

September 2009

As from the end of October Balance UK will have a new version of the sash travel restrictor, which will also be available in white, gold, chrome and satin chrome.

Top Sash Knob 

September 2009

Coming soon is a new additional version of the top sash knob. Currently you can purchase the anodised version, however soon a white model will be an alternative option for your sash windows.
